Understanding the CDS Exam

Before diving into preparation, let’s understand exam first, CDS exam is more than just a written test; it’s a comprehensive selection process to identify the best candidates for the Armed Forces.

Written Exam Structure:

The written exam consists of three papers:

  • English: Tests grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • General Knowledge: Covers current affairs, history, geography, science, and more.
  • Mathematics: Includes arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. (Maths exam is not for OTA)

Each exam is objective, and time management is crucial. Practice mock tests to get a feel for the actual exam.

SSB Interview Process:

After clearing the written exam, you face the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview—a rigorous process that evaluates your personality, leadership skills, and decision-making abilities through group tasks, personal interviews, and psychological tests.

Eligibility Criteria and Key Dates:

  •  Candidates must meet age, education, and physical standards.

• Key Dates for CDS 1 2025:

    • Notification Release Date: December 11, 2024.
    • Application Period: December 11, 2024 – January 1, 2025 (extended).
    • Exam Date: April 13, 2025.
